The jury is in -- Sunlight is the best medicine.
Yes, you should. Forever Sun offers a wide variety of top quality tanning lotions. If you choice to NOT use a lotion, you will absorb only about 50% of the UV light and only retain the tanned appearance about 50% as long. You need 3 things to be able to tan: UVA, UVB, and Oxygen. Without oxygen the tanning process can not take place. Most of our lotions are formulated with CuO2 which is simply an oxygen boost for you skin. DRY SKIN WON'T EVER TAN!
ABSOLUTELY-every time! Your eyelids do NOT contain melanin thus they will not tan. They will just burn. Even short periods of eye exposure to UV light will lead to both temporary and long-term damage. As the rays penetrate the organ, they can cause burning of the eye (retinal burns), cataracts, and other vision problems that may lead to the need for surgical correction. Ultraviolet light injures the eye because eyelids are too thin to provide protection.
One concern that we must focus on is heat. Excessive heat could come from Jacuzzis, saunas, or mid summer temperatures as well as tanning units. Forever Sun offers tanning units with air conditioning and turbo fans that may help eliminate any discomfort. An expectant mother should always stay well hydrated at all times. We offer a selection of cold beverages to ensure hydration. Most expectant mothers are concerned with UV light penetration. Ultraviolet light penetrates approximately 2 mm deep into the skin (roughly the thickness of cardboard or 2 compact discs put together). This distance is not far enough to reach the infant or vital organs. We still advise consulting your OB-GYN and with this knowledge come to an approval. Just remember Vitamin D comes naturally from UV light.
You must be at least 14 years of age to tan AND if you are under the age of 18 you MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release form.
At Forever Sun, we pride ourselves on our high sanitation standards. We use a hospital grade disinfectant/sanitizer know as Lucasol. Lucasol kills on contact bacterial such as Salmonella, Streptococcus, and MRSA, Athlete's foot fungus (Trichophyton Mentagrophtes), Herpes Simplex Type 1, HIV type 1, Hepatitis B virus & Hep. C, and many other viral, fungal & bacterial activities. Staff members are trained to sanitize each room before and after each use. We sanitize the tanning unit fully along with the protective eyewear and the seating.
